Shop The Post:
I’m baaack to my little corner of the internet today! I’ve only had one blog post go up in the last two weeks, which has never happened before. The week before last was midterms week and I had a huge test to study for so I didn’t have time to take any pictures. Then we left immediately for Chicago and I was enjoying myself on my fall break, so here we are.
Now on to today’s post! First thing’s first. Your closet is not empty I guarantee! I know this because I’ve been in this situation countless of times and most likely thrown a fit about how I ‘need to go shopping’ because I have ‘no clothes anymore’.
None of that is true. I was actually in this same position looking for an outfit to style for my photoshoot, and came up with this cute little number! Here’s how I did it and how you can too:
We all have a simple & basic piece in our closet, whether it’s a little dress like mine or a plain shirt, I start with the basic piece first! Then I moved on to the shoes, and I always think boots pull an outfit together really easily. If you’re in need of a new pair of rain boots, remember that Hunter gives a 15% discount to students! I love love love tall over the knee socks with my boots because they add some style and are super comfy too, so I added those.
Then I grabbed a flannel to tie around my waist but you can use a jean jacket or anything else too. Tying things around the waist has just come back into style a few years ago I think–I remember being in middle and so embarrassed when I had to tie my jackets around my waist, ha! Conveniently the weather is cooling down so you can always thrown on a beanie or even a hat too. I top it off with my favorite pair of sunnies, especially if you felt like any makeup you threw on didn’t do it’s job, haha!
Easy peasy! I know that in the moment it seems like there’s absolutely nothing to wear sometimes, but I promise there is. It’s a great feeling to walk out of the door into a busy day feeling like you look good, so hopefully this post helps if you find yourself in a wardrobe crisis. See you all on Wednesday!
