Thunderstorms in the forecast all day, sooo anyone having a lazy rainy day? I sort of am! Visiting my bff Sara today and planning on catching up on the last few months of our lives! You know that one friend you just pick up right where you left off with? Yep, that’s Sara.
If you are having a lazy day, pick up the fabulous Lauren Graham’s new book Talking As fast As I Can (any Gilmore Girl fans will think this title is perfectly fitting!) Speaking of my friend Sara, she actually got me into Gilmore Girls at the start of last fall, and we binge watched the new episodes together over Thanksgiving Break haha! So for Christmas, my parents got me Lauren Graham’s new book.
Let me tell you guys…she is so funny! Lauren Graham is my new favorite. As if she wasn’t my favorite when I was watching Gilmore Girls, she’s even more of a favorite now. I was always partial to Rory during the show–she always had it all together, more than 2 boys chasing her at a time, and an amazing writer. But, reading Graham’s new book really makes me realize how much of a real person she is. Everyone likes real people, right? Haha, really though, there are a lot of people who were just handed their fame, or had it “easy” (not that I’m one to judge), but Lauren was definitely not one of those people. She experienced living in New York City trying to make it in the theater world while working 2 jobs, rehearsing in her tiny and over priced apartment, while getting minimal hours of sleep. For a long time!
Not only does she talk about her road to where she is now, she also adds humor into every other sentence. My favorite chapter of hers is “You Can’t Be Vegan Just For Ellen”. Makes you want to read her book just by the title of that chapter, doesn’t it? It’s so so funny and you can tell she feels really passionate about loving herself and not obsessing over dieting and “looking perfect”, which would be hard in the business she is in.
From talking about her “butt modeling” experience, to where she grew up, to how she got to Gilmore Girls, Lauren Graham is cuter than ever in her book Talking As Fast As I Can…Perfect for some relaxing on a rainy weekend, or if you just want to block out 20 minutes each day to read (which I should do).
Also wanted to mention this fun little outfit I picked up for spring. The top is actually on sale right now for under $50. The shoes are from last season and I’ve worn the stew out of them, but they’re still my favorite go-to, and good for the transitioning weather that we haven’t really seen yet.
