Charlotte Guide

Hi friends! So for Spring Break I visited a bunch of my family right outside Charlotte, North Carolina. We spent a day in uptown Charlotte and it was really fun! It actually reminded me a bit of Portland. In Charlotte they don’t say going ‘downtown’ so that got confusing but uptown was really fun. I’ll definitely be back sooner than later and spent a little more time in the city, but for now I want to share what I did and fun places with you all!

I would highly recommend taking the Lynx Blue Line Lightrail to get around the city. It’s not a busy busy city with a lot of traffic like some cities, but it was nice not to deal with parking at all and my cousins (age 9 and 11) both loved riding it! I did too. We hopped on from the first stop, where we parked in the parking garage, and then rode it all the way down to the last stop at 7th street.

Once you get off at the 7th street stop, the cutest market is right there! The 7th St. Public Market reminds me a lot of the Pine St. Market in Portland. We didn’t find it until we were almost done for the day, but I would have loved to spend more time here. There’s shopping, drinks and food, and it’s all really yummy! I had a cappuccino from Not Just Coffee and it was great.

Brixx Pizza is where we had lunch and that was delicious too. If you come here you have to get the s’more pizza for dessert! I hadn’t had anything like that before and it tasted just like a s’more!

We went to the Epicentre in Charlotte and did some bowling but they also have tons of food, nightlife, movies, and more! It’s really new and upscale and even more places are going in.

If you’re there at the right time, try to get tickets to a Hornets game! The lynx will let you off right at the arena so you can head right there, or grab something to drink or eat before/after.

Don’t forget to hit up some great southern food while you’re here! Of course I went to Chick-Fil-A three times and McAlister’s twice (they have the best sweet tea!) but I can’t wait to go back and try even more places.

That’s it, let me know if you ever make it to Charlotte and what places you try!
