Shop The Post:
It’s the first day of school! It’s so hard to believe I only have two more years of college left. Calling myself a Junior just seems weird. My classes don’t start until this afternoon so I’m going to have a relaxing morning getting all ready and organized for the week!
The topic of college and school is obviously fresh on my mind, and it’s also fresh on a lot of people’s minds right now. I thought I’d bring in another school related post! Habits are important–we all have bad habits, but we also have good habits and we stick to them for a reason. Today I’m talking about the good habits and which ones I’m starting to kick off a good year! Plus, you guys are my witnesses if I don’t quite stick to these 😉
Making morning and evening routines. Decide what your mornings will look like. Maybe you should wake up an hour before your first class, try not snoozing your alarm, eat a healthy breakfast, take some quiet time for yourself. Try setting an actual bed time for yourself in the evening, or taking some time to read. Whatever it is, decide and stick to it!
Open things up in the morning. In college things tend to go at a pretty fast pace. In the morning it’s easy to leave the curtains closed and lights off if you’re in a hurry, but build the time in to open everything up, maybe some windows too to let in the fresh air and sunlight!
Keep a to-do list to stay productive. Productivity can be hard sometimes, but what helps me is keeping a constant to-do list. I keep one on my phone but want to switch to paper during the school year. Then if I’m feeling like a slug but know I need to get things done, I can look at my to-do list and cross at least one thing off!
Less screen time. I haven’t quite figured out how I am going to use this time, but it’s easy to spend nearly the entire day staring at a screen. My little blog business is almost all on the internet, and so is a large part of school. For the sake of my eyes and my brain, I’m going to make it a habit to take some designated ‘no screen time’.
Make friends with fellow classmates. This will come in handy when you’re completely lost during an assignment and need a friend who knows what’s going on! It’s also a good way to make friends in general. As you get further and further into college, you’ll start to see the people in your classes more and more, especially if you have the same major. Why not befriend them!
I’m off to my first class of the year, but I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! All outfit details are linked, and I found some darling duplicate dresses. Have a great Monday!
